Reviewer Confidentiality Policy

1. The principle

Every Eldenhall Research evaluation is conducted by independent subject experts whose identities remain confidential. This is the same principle that underpins blinded journal peer review: a reviewer who cannot be identified can be honest without professional risk, and their assessment reflects academic judgment rather than courtesy.

2. What you receive about your panel

For each reviewer on your panel, you receive:

• Reviewer expertise: the subject areas they evaluate.
• Academic specialization: their specific research focus within the discipline.
• Qualification level: for example doctoral degree, postdoctoral, or faculty-level experience.
• Years of experience: in research, review, or academic practice.

3. What is never disclosed

• Reviewer names.
• Institutional affiliations.
• Any personally identifying information.

This applies in both directions: reviewers evaluate your manuscript, and neither party's identity is disclosed to the other beyond what the manuscript itself contains.

4. Why this protects you

• Honest feedback: anonymity removes the incentive to soften criticism. You get the evaluation a journal reviewer would actually write, before a journal reviewer writes it.
• Independence: reviewers have no relationship with you and no stake in your submission decisions.
• Your confidentiality too: reviewers are bound by confidentiality obligations covering your manuscript, your data, and your identity as a client.

5. Agreement

Reviewer confidentiality is a structural feature of the service and a condition of every engagement. It is accepted at checkout, reflected in our Terms & Conditions, and cannot be waived by individual request. If your institution requires additional confidentiality arrangements, such as a signed NDA covering your manuscript, contact us before ordering. Our workflow supports this.
